Two males in custody after a report of threatening behaviour and criminal damage
Police used a taser during the arrest of two males on Hastings Road this morning (Sunday August 15). The two had been sought by officers after an earlier incident on Chatsworth Drive, on Cherwell Heights. Both individuals are currently being held in custody.
Thames Valley Police had received a report of threatening behaviour and criminal damage occurring on Chatsworth Drive during Sunday morning. Following this Response Team One located two suspected offenders, a 37-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy, on Hastings Road.
During the arrest the demeanour of one of the individuals led to officers deploying the use of a taser.
Both males are from Banbury. They are currently in custody whilst officers’ investigations continue.
After the incident on social media officers wrote: “It is quite possible that some of you witnessed the arrest of the males on Hastings Road where due to the demeanour of one of them Taser was deployed.
“Whilst this may have been disturbing to see please be assured that our Specialist Taser Officers are highly trained in the use of Taser, and also the required aftercare post usage.“
