West Northants academy and trust school admissions policy consultation underway
14/11/2023
A formal consultation runs until the end of the year
The admissions process operated by a number of schools in West Northamptonshire is the subject of a consultation which is now underway.
All of the schools affected are run by academies and trusts where they act as their own school admission authority. Chenderit School in Middleton Cheney is amongst them.
The aim is to review the way places are allocated.
West Northamptonshire Council’s School Admission Team opened a formal consultation yesterday (November 13). This will run until the end of the year.
Councillor Fiona Baker is the Council’s Cabinet Member for children, families, and education. She said: “I really encourage all parents, carers and guardians who may have a child at primary or secondary school to have their say in this consultation.
“The way in which places are allocated at a school is important to get right and that can only be achieved with the views and comments of those who have to go through the process included in the final decision making.”
At Chenderit this year’s consultation is a statutory one on their admission arrangements for Sixth Form entry. The school says they aren’t planning any changes to the arrangements they had in place from previous years.
The consultation can be found here.
