The parts of Bretch Hill affected by the power outage

The Thames Water facility on Bretch Hill was affected by a power cut during Wednesday

A power outage left part of Bretch Hill without electricity yesterday evening and some properties with low or no water pressure.

The loss of power only affected 50 properties around Hampden Close and Bretch Hill but Thames Water’s site at the top of the hill also found itself without electricity.

Western Power distribution were first made aware of a problem at around 2.25pm on Wednesday afternoon after a third party damaged a network cable.    Their engineers worked into the evening to resolve the issue with supplies finally restored at around 9.45pm.

During the evening a number of properties served by the water tower facility on Bretch Hill repoerted low or no water pressure.   Thames Water confirmed this was related to the loss of power at their site.   Engineers attended and reset the boosters to restore customers’ supply once the power was restored.
