Car overturns after hitting the central reservation in the early hours of Sunday morning
A driver had a lucky escape after falling asleep at the wheel on the M40 during the early hours of Sunday morning.
Emergency services were called to the scene of the accident on the southbound M40 between Banbury and the Cherwell Valley Services at around 2.20am. Just one vehicle was involved in the incident.
The driver had fallen asleep at the wheel. They collided with the central barrier and rolled their car. They escaped with no injuries.
Writing on social media Thames Valley Police’s Roads Policing Unit said: “Tiredness can kill, take a break and arrive alive.”
