Power problems leave schools closed for a second day
21/11/2023
School assures parents they aim to move back on site as soon as they are able
Wykham Park Academy and the Futures Institute in Banbury are set to remain closed for a second day tomorrow (Wednesday) as the school campus is still experiencing problems with its power supply. A fire in an electrical substation by the school’s main entrance on Monday has caused the problems.
The school says the situation is beyond their control and means that, unfortunately, they are unable to welcome children back to on-site learning.
Years 7-10 will continue to have lessons and work posted in their google classrooms. For years 11-13 live lessons via google classroom meets have been arranged, following the normal school timetable.
A message to parents from School Heads Julia Ingham and Carly Berry said: “We will provide an update daily by email to parents and on our social media platforms and can assure you that we aim to move back onto our site as soon as we are able.”
