A woman in her late teens has been sexually assaulted on a bus in Banbury.

She was on the X4 Stagecoach bus between Banbury bus station and the Horton Hospital at around 3.25pm yesterday (November 21) when the assault happened.

Having boarded the bus at the bus station, the woman was followed by a man dressed in a camouflaged style jacket.   She took a seat upstairs where he attempted to sit next to her.   When she refused the man sat behind her.

During the journey the man pinched the victim’s bottom on three occasions between the gaps in the seats, so the victim moved to another seat.

The man left the bus at the stop near to the Horton Hospital.  He is described as a white man aged in his late twenties.

Investigating officer PC Chris Kidd, based at Banbury police station, said: “I am appealing to anybody who was on this particular bus and witnessed this incident to please get in touch with Thames Valley Police.

“If you don’t want to speak directly with police, you can also call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
