Successful Chamber event focused on Banbury’s Future and the Workforce
28/11/2023
The next event will look at Banbury Vision 2050 from a business perspective
Eighty people attended this year’s Banbury Chamber of Commerce Live event: “The Future of Banbury and Your Workforce”.
The day included a series of insightful talks, networking, and a curated exhibition showcasing 29 businesses.
Held at Banbury and Bicester College, the event featured talks by Ian Boll from Cherwell District Council, Paul Roberts from Aspire Oxfordshire, Lisa-Marie Mallier from No Fluff Communications and Activate Learning’s Andy Slater. Delegates were introduced to the Banbury Vision 2050 project, and heard the speakers thoughts on inclusive recruitment, marketing and AI, apprenticeships and how the college is working with local businesses.
Banbury Chamber of Commerce is taking part in this year’s Katharine House Hospice Accumulator Challenge and their fund raising efforts were kick-started with £290 from a raffle on the day.
Bloxham Mill was one of the event sponsors. Commercial Director Emma McGregor said: “Banbury and the surrounding areas has a thriving business community and it is great to be able to support them at events hosted by the Chamber of Commerce. Such a brilliant opportunity as well to see what the College and their students have to offer and how both parties can work together”.
The next Chamber event continues to explore the future of Banbury through the Banbury Vision 2050 project. A workshop this Thursday will give an early preview of some of the initial findings from the survey with around 1,000 responses already received. Those attending will have an opportunity to tell the Vision team how they feel about the town centre and how they would like to see it change for the benefit of local businesses.
The meeting is being held at Karcher’s HQ with lunch provided. Ticket details can be found here.
