Police reassure residents after children in Brackley seen with knife

Youngsters aged 10 were spotted in town on Monday afternoon

Police in Brackley have sought to reassure people that a group of children seen with a knife in the town was an isolated incident.

The youngsters involved were aged 10.

Posts appeared on social media after the children were spotted on Monday afternoon.  The parents of some of those involved reported the incident to the Police.

Following an investigation by officers from the Neighbourhood Team a group of children were spoken to about the consequences of having a knife in public.   The Police will now undertake further intervention on the subject.

An officer said: “[This was] an isolated incident and by no means indicative of a culture in town.  We thank the public for their support”.
