Flood warning in place for Banbury
11/12/2023
Property flooding is not currently expected
A flood warning has been issued for the River Cherwell through the Banbury area. The warning is in place from Charwelton to just above Upper Heyford and includes Cropredy, Kings Sutton and Banbury town centre.
The Environment Agency says that property flooding is not currently expected but the risk remains, especially in the Banbury area.
Its predicted that river levels will fall slowly with the weather forecast for mostly dry conditions today, although some rain is expected overnight and again during Tuesday afternoon.
The Environment Agency say: “We are closely monitoring the situation. Please remain safe and aware of your local surroundings, avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and refer to the ‘River and Sea levels in England’ webpage for current river levels.”
