Councillors at Cherwell District Council look set to appoint a new Chief Executive at a meeting of the full council this evening (Monday).
The existing Chief Executive Yvonne Rees announced her intention to leave the Council earlier this year.
A report ahead of tonight’s meeting says that an independent external recruitment consultant sourced candidates and the four political group leaders reviewed the applications.
The Personnel Committee considered the shortlisted applicants and conducted interviews, leading to the recommendation to appoint Gordon Stewart.
Mr Stewart has a range of experience in senior leadership in complex delivery environments across industry, the public sector, and the Higher Education and charity sectors. His most recent role was as the Chief Operating Officer for The Institute of Cancer Research.
The salary range for the Chief Executive at Cherwell District Council is noted on published pay scales as being in the range of £146,715 to £160,556.
