Attempted murder in Banbury leaves man in a life threatening condition

Reports of an assault came in an 3.20 on Wednesday morning
A man is in a life threatening condition after an attempted murder in Banbury during the early hours this morning (Wednesday).
Thames Valley Police were called to Cope Road at around 3.20am following a report that a man had been assaulted. The victim is a man in his thirties.
He was taken to hospital where he currently remains.
A 48-year-old man from Banbury has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in custody.
Thames Valley Police is appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Chief Inspector Mike Roddy said: “This was a serious incident that we are investigating thoroughly, with a suspect currently in police custody.
“We are in the very early stages of our investigation and are still trying to establish the full circumstances. It’s really important that if you have any information at all that could help our investigation that you get in touch as soon as possible.
