Flood warning for Kings Sutton but river levels starting to fall
04/01/2024
The Met Office is predicting more rain tonight
River levels are now falling in the upper reaches of the River Cherwell and its tributaries, but the Environment Agency says they are still high. Flooding of low-lying land and roads is expected to continue, especially in the Banbury area and at Kings Sutton, where a flood warning is in force.
The Environment Agency says that river levels have begun to stabilise in Banbury and are falling, but will remain high over the next few days and be sensitive to further rainfall.
Meanwhile, the Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for more rain, which is set to cross our area as we head into the evening and through the night. After that drier, but colder conditions are predicted.
