Tony Christie joins the lineup for this summer’s event

We now know the final lineup for this year’s Fairport Cropredy Festival – and a big sing-a-long is guaranteed with Tony Christie heading to Cropredy.   Famous for hits like (Is This the Way To) Amarillo and I Did What I Did For Maria, Tony will perform a mix of classic tracks and songs from his new album on the Thursday.

Fairport’s bassist Dave Pegg said: “When Ric, Chris and I saw Tony perform at the Costa Festival we were immensely impressed. His classy show earned him a well-deserved standing ovation.”

Tony was amongst the latest names – revealed at 10am today – joining already announced headliners Rick Wakeman and The English Rock Ensemble, The Trevor Horn Band and Fairport Convention themselves.

Others added to the lineup today include the Americana / folk duo Hannah Sanders and Ben Savage and Kent trio The Zac Schulze Gang.

This year’s festival will run from August the 8th to the 10th.

Two-day Friday and Saturday tickets and Saturday only tickets also went on sale today.
