Victory over Hednesford Town took Banbury United’s tally of league wins to 15 this season
Banbury United head into the festive period taking the top spot in their league after beating Hednesford Town 3-2 in an away game last night. The Puritan’s victory came after a dramatic late winner from Morgan Roberts in the game’s dying moments.
Banbury now sit as Southern League Premier Central leaders with 48 points and a game in hand over Coalville Town in second place with 46. On Saturday Banbury United defeated Coalville Town 3-1.
As Andy Whing’s team go from strength to strength, last night’s win carries this season’s tally of victories to 15, with 3 drawn and just 1 lost.
The Puritans have two away games ahead of Christmas, visiting Bigglsewade Town on Saturday and third placed Peterborough Sports next Tuesday. Their final game of 2021 with be a home match against Stratford Town on Christmas Monday.
