A car collided with a pedestrian on Friday afternoon
A driver who left the scene of a Banbury collision with a pedestrian has come forward.
It was around 4.30pm last Friday (January 19) that the victim, a 21-year-old man, was crossing the road on Upper Windsor Street. Here he was involved in a collision with a small yellow car.
The victim was seriously injured, sustaining broken bones and lacerations. He was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
Initially the driver stopped, but then left the scene.
Police have confirmed that the driver has now made contact with them.
They are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
Investigating officer PC Kevin Crick of the Roads Policing Unit, said: “I would … appeal to anybody who was driving in the area and may have dash-cam capturing the incident to please contact us, likewise if you know the identity of the driver.
