High voltage network fault takes out power supplies to Banbury properties

Power was off for around an hour
A number of Banbury homes and businesses were hit by a power cut this morning. Eighty-one properties were affected in an area from the Horton General Hospital on the Oxford Road to just past the Bloxham Road junction.
The Banbury Cross Health Centre lost their supply leaving staff with no access to their systems.
Other properties in the affected area included Harriers Banbury Academy and the TA Centre.
The incident was first reported at 9.41am.
National Grid said the outage was caused by a fault on their high voltage network in the area.
Engineers manged to restore all supplies by 10.45am.
