Sunday evening power cut affects 1,391 properties
31/01/2022
Supplies were re-routed to restore power by 2.44am
1,391 properties in Banbury were affected by a power cut late on Sunday evening. The break in supply was not weather related.
The loss in power was reported in the Warwick Road area at 11.38pm. Engineers from Western Power Distribution worked to resolve the issue which was caused by an underground cable fault.
A process called ‘switching’ was used to re-route electricity around the fault, meaning supplies were restored by 2.44am.
Engineering teams are in the area today to identify the exact location of the fault and start repairs.
