Farmers rescue driver from overturned vehicle
28/02/2024
No other vehicles were involved in the crash
The driver of an overturned vehicle was helped out of their car by local farmers who came to their aid after hearing the crash.
Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue crews from Deddington and Banbury, and a team from South Central Ambulance Service were called to Somerton Road in North Aston on Friday afternoon.
Just one vehicle was involved. On hearing the crash the farmers went to the aid of the driver, helped them out of their vehicle and looked after them until the ambulance crew arrived.
The road was closed during the incident.
Following the crash Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue are reminding drivers that the winter weather can present extra hazards, especially on rural routes. Extra time should be allowed for braking on wet roads and speeds should be kept at a suitable level for winding country roads where its often not easy to see what could be round the next bend.
