Section of tree could crash to the ground at any time
21/02/2022
Drivers and walkers are asked to not ignore the road closure notices
People are being asked to heed the warnings of road closure signs on The Fairway in Banbury where a large section of a poplar tree has broken and could come crashing to the ground at any moment. It is currently held in place by a second tree. Its feared that the broken section could come down at any time, helped by today’s strong winds.
A number of walkers and vehicles have all been seen passing the road closure notices, some of which have been knocked down by the storm gusts.
The closure notice was first put in place on Saturday afternoon when the tree succumbed to the winds of Storm Eunice.
Drivers are asked to follow the signed diversion and walkers avoid the area until the tree can be made safe.
