Odyssey Juniors ready for their first show in two years
24/02/2022
Twenty-two youngsters will perform Roald Dahl’s “Matilda The Musical Junior” at the Wykham Theatre
Youngsters from the Odyssey Theatrical Group are getting ready for the curtain going up on their first performance since the pandemic. Tomorrow evening Odyssey Juniors will be on stage with a production of Roald Dahl’s “Matilda The Musical Junior”.
Planning started for the show before Christmas, with workshops and auditions held for the principal parts.
Much of the preparatory work has completed this week, with the set built last weekend and the children heading in during the Half Term break to work on their singing, dancing and acting.
Twenty-two young people are involved in the show. Odyssey Theatrical Group Director Kieron Galliard said: “They’re very excited as for some this is the very first musical theatre they have done. The youngest is just eight.”
The performances are taking place at the Wykham Theatre on the Wykham Park Academy campus. The first show is tomorrow evening with both a matinee and evening show on Saturday. Tickets are still available.
