Tomorrow’s engineers challenged at Technology Tournament

Representatives from The Engineering Trust, Pro-Drive and Advanced Witness Systems judged the entries
Tomorrow’s engineers from our area’s schools came together for a Technology Tournament last week.
The competition was organised by the Rotary Club of Banbury Cherwell. Sixteen teams from Activate Learning, the North Oxfordshire Academy, Warriner and Tudor Hall attended the event at Banbury and Bicester College.
Teams of four were challenged to design and build a model of a construction that could be scaled up to carry a ShelterBox across a ravine.
Judging was undertaken by Rotarian Chris May, along with James Giles from the Engineering Trust, Pro-Drive’s James Cavendish-Tribe and Tom Haley from Advanced Witness Systems.
Banbury Charities sponsored the event and Chairman Colin Clarke attended to present trophies and certificates.
A team from the Warriner School was named as winners of the Junior Level, North Oxfordshire Academy won the Intermediate level and the winners of Advanced Level were Tudor Hall’s team The Rose Stems.
