Town Mayor will join the first History Walk of the year in Banbury this weekend
17/04/2024
The Calthorpe and Cherwell areas will be explored
The secrets of Banbury’s past will be revealed this weekend with the return of the popular History Walks.
Town Mayor Fiaz Ahmed will join host Steve Kilsby for the first event of 2024, exploring the Calthorpe and Cherwell areas of town.
Setting off from Banbury Cross, the curated walk will feature stories and characters from Banbury’s history, highlighting historic places we can still see today and in other locations how things used to look.
The walk will take between an hour and an hour and a half with the group setting the pace.
The event is free, but participants are asked to donate to the Mayor’s charities in return for a cup of tea and refreshments in the Town Hall afterwards.
Anyone wanting to join the walk should meet at Banbury Cross at 11am on Saturday.
