Music fills packed church with nearly £5k raised for hospice access road

Over 200 people enjoyed the fundraising evening
A concert at Kings Sutton church raised £4,860 towards a project to resurface the pot-holed entrance road at the Katharine House Hospice in Adderbury.
David Barrett organised the evening. His wife Susan tasked him to use his abilities as a structural engineer to fix the road shortly before she passed away at the hospice last year.
The concert featured the Kings Sutton Community Choir and others, including David’s 93-year-old brother – a retired professional opera singer who came out of retirement for two memorable performances.
Money was also raised through an auction and raffle.
Over 200 people enjoyed the ‘Songs for the Road’ concert. David is now having a rest before he continues his work on the project. Its estimated the work will cost £30,000 in total.
