Bloxham Boys Brigade welcomes news King Charles is their new patron
09/05/2024
Over 60 young people attend the Boys Brigade in the village
Members of the Boys Brigade in Bloxham have welcomed the news that King Charles III has become the new Patron for their organisation.
The announcement comes one year on from his Coronation and follows a major review of Royal patronages by Buckingham Palace.
The Boys’ Brigade in Bloxham has a membership of over 60 and provides opportunities for children and young people aged five to eighteen-years-old to learn, grow and discover.
They meet every Tuesday from half past four at the Ellen Hinde Hall.
Jonathan Eales, Chief Executive of The Boys’ Brigade, said: “Having already been a great supporter of our work and more widely of uniformed youth organisations, we are incredibly proud and honoured that The King is our new Patron.
“The announcement confirms His Majesty as the fifth reigning monarch to become our Patron, following Queen Elizabeth II, King George VI, King Edward VIII and King George V.
“Royal patronage provides publicity and recognition for what we do in communities across the country and the hard work and dedication of our volunteer leaders.”
