This weekend could see history made for the Puritans

If Banbury United win this Saturday it becomes impossible for any other team to catch them up
Banbury United are currently riding high at the top of Southern League Premier Division Central, a comfortable 20 points ahead of second placed Coalville Town.
With just five league games left to play this season, this weekend’s home fixture against Tamworth could be the game to seal the title of champions and gain promotion. A win for the Puritans would make it mathematically impossible for any other team to catch them up.
Tamworth are currently placed in the middle of the table. When the clubs last played each other in November the Puritans won the away game 0-4.
It is anticipated that United’s ground at Station Approach will be packed out as the club’s supporters watch the moment history could be made.
Of the 35 matches played so far this season, under manager Andy Whing Banbury United have won 28 games, drawn 5 and lost just 2.
