Elaine Wiltshire appointed new mayor of Brackley
13/05/2024
The mayor making ceremony was held on Saturday
Brackley has a new Town Mayor. Councillor Elaine Wiltshire took over from Councillor Sue Sharps at the annual Mayor Making Ceremony in Brackley Town Hall on Saturday.
One of Councillor Wiltshire’s first duties after taking on the chains of office was to open a classic car show at Brackley Care Home yesterday.
The role of mayor is something that Councillor Wiltshire will be familiar with, having previously worn the chains of office in 2014.
The new deputy mayor for the town is Councillor Fiona Baker.
During Saturday’s Mayor Making event, outgoing Town Mayor Councillor Sue Sharps handed over a total of £11,300 to South Northants Youth Engagement and Brackley Foodbank. This money came from the fund-raising activities she has undertaken through her mayoral year.
