Election 24: Sean Woodcock launches campaign for Labour
25/05/2024
Labour Leader Kier Starmer said “This is a chance to change Banbury with Labour”
Sean Woodcock has launched his campaign to win the Banbury seat for Labour at the General Election.
He has been a Labour councillor at Cherwell District Council since 2012.
Sean was born in Banbury and is the eldest of five children. After attending Wroxton primary school and Warriner School in Bloxham he studied history in Reading and then went to Birmingham for a post-graduate qualification.
Amongst Sean’s top priorities are fixing the economy, rebuilding the NHS by fighting for increased availability of NHS GP and dental appointments, putting extra police on our streets to keep communities safe, working to revive our high streets and fighting to create jobs for the future.
He said: “I am proud to launch my campaign to be the next Labour MP for Banbury. After 14 years of decline under successive Conservative leaders and governments, it’s time for change. I’m ready to work hard for the people of Banbury and North Oxfordshire, by listening to your top priorities and carrying your voice to Westminster.
“People are tired of being let down by a Conservative government that is out of ideas and no longer serves the interests of the Country. Having run down our public services and reduced confidence in our economy, it’s clear that we are ready for change, and Labour is ready to deliver.
“Together we can change Banbury.”
Keir Starmer, Leader of the Labour Party, said: “This is a chance to change Banbury with Labour.
“Over the course of the last four years, we have changed the Labour Party and returned it once more to the service of working people.
“All we ask now, humbly, is to do exactly the same for our country. And return Britain to the service of working people. A vote for Labour is a vote for economic and political stability, an end to Conservative chaos, and a long-term plan to rebuild Britain.”
Polling stations will open at 7am on Thursday July 4.

He see’s no problem or conflict of interest with councils cosying up with major corporations who then charge you “management fees” on top of council tax. He is a shyster like every other council worker who endorses these schemes. Council tax goes up, while you get fewer and fewer services, then come the add on charges from councils and their corporate buddies. Corrupt the lot of them.
