Four suspected arson cases in Banbury streets overnight
14/04/2022
The emergency services quickly put out the fires to prevent them from spreading
Four separate fires were started during the early hours of this morning (April 14) on three roads off Longelandes Way in Banbury.
Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue were called to all four cases of what is being treated as suspected arson.
The fires occurred between 1.45am and 3am on Windrush, Woodfield and in two places on High Furlong.
The blazes were started using a mixture of rubbish in trolleys and bin bags. The emergency services quickly put out the fires, preventing them spreading and becoming more serious.
Thames Valley Police are appealing for any witnesses or people who might have relevant CCTV to come forward to assist them in their enquiries. Sgt Sarah Nash from the Neighbourhood Team is dealing with the case and can be contacted by email (sarah.nash@thamesvalley.police.uk) or by calling 101.
