Schools out and Longford Park landed with litter
25/07/2024
Youngsters left rubbish, items of school clothing, keys and books
Schools out for summer – and so was an abundance of litter and lost property at the Longford Park Football pitches after youngsters celebrated the end of the school year.
Members of the football club spent time this morning clearing away and recycling the rubbish and gathering in items of school uniform and other personal property which had been left behind, such as keys and books.
Writing on social media a club spokesperson said: “Seeing everyone use the pitches and having fun is always great to see. It’s not to great to see this mess on the field.”

Is it possible to pass this message from Oxfordshire Wildlife Rescue to the organisers of Longford Park Football club.
If these nets are left out constantly they are at risk of wildlife getting ensnared. OWR have had a lot of rescues already this summer and my understanding of the area is there is a lot of wildlife around there..
