In particular they need someone to take on the role of secretary

The Banbury branch of Parkinson’s UK is urgently appealing for volunteers to help keep its vital services running.   The branch, which supports people living with Parkinson’s – and their families, could face closure if new volunteers don’t step forward.

In particular they need a secretary along with general committee members.   These roles are crucial in ensuring that the branch can continue to offer its regular meetings and activities, which are a lifeline for many who’s lives are affected by Parkinson’s disease.

The committee meets monthly and oversees the day-to-day operation of the branch, providing support, information and activities to its members.

The branch holds a monthly meeting, cuppa and chat, and a singing session for people with Parkinson’s.

Zoe Sole, Local Volunteer Officer at Parkinson’s UK, said: “The Banbury branch is a lifeline for people in the local area living with Parkinson’s, but we rely on volunteers to keep these groups running.   Without the support from people like you, these groups could be forced to close.

“If you can spare a few hours a month, we’d love to welcome you to volunteer alongside the amazing people who are part of the Banbury group—because with your support, we really can change lives.”

The branch meets monthly at the WRVS Cornhill Centre in Banbury.   Parkinson’s UK is the leading charity in the UK supporting those with the condition, with a mission to find a cure and improve lives through research and support.
