Firefighters’ Open Day raises £3,343 for charity
28/08/2024
Both Katharine House Hospice and the Firefighters’ Charity will benefit
Fire fighters from Banbury raised just over £3,343 for charity at their Open Day a couple of weeks ago.
The doors were opened at the station on Cope Road with visitors able to enjoy live demonstrations, a bouncy castle, barbecue and a look around the specialist vehicles, alongside other attractions.
This was the first time the fire station had welcomed the general public since 2018 and Banbury Town Mayor, Councillor Mark Cherry, was amongst those in attendance.
The total raised has just been announced, with funds heading to both the Katharine House Hospice and the Firefighter’s Charity.
A fire service spokesperson said: “We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported the event, including local businesses and all attendees.”
