South Newington records the most rain in the UK

A rare amber alert for rain had been issued
Monday’s record for the most rain in the country was in the Banbury FM area.
108mm of water fell from the skies in South Newington during the day – more than anywhere else in the UK.
The news came in a release from the Met Office early on Tuesday morning.
Rain persistently fell across the area throughout Monday with the Met Office issuing a rare amber alert.
Despite improving conditions today high river levels are now causing flooding problems.
