Applications for secondary school places now open
26/09/2024
The closing date for choices to be submitted is October 31
For parents and carers of children who are in year 6 at school the time has arrived to decide where they will continue their education next year.
Applications for secondary school places are now open.
Parents are invited to select a first preference school along with three other options.
The closing date for applications is October 31.
Councillor John Howson, Oxfordshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Children, Education and Young People’s Services, said: “It is important to use the opportunity to name four schools. This will not make it less likely that your first preference will be offered. However, it does reduce the risk of all preferences being unsuccessful – if four schools are named – and your child being allocated a place at a school not shown on their list.
“It is important to apply on time as late applications will only be processed after those received during the admissions application period, which runs until the end of October, and are far less likely to secure places at preferred schools.”
National offer day is March 3 next year.
