National Grid investigating after Banbury homes suffer several power cuts
01/10/2024
Work is due to be completed tomorrow (Wednesday)
National Grid believe a low voltage cable fault has been causing problems for residents who have experienced several power cuts in Banbury in recent weeks.
Yesterday 85 properties on the Hardwick estate lost their supplies early in the morning.
Engineers managed to fix the problem, which was believed to be down to a blown fuse, but an investigation is now underway as this isn’t the first time its happened.
A National Grid Electricity Distribution spokesperson said: “We are aware of multiple outages affecting 85 properties in Banbury.
“We are currently locating and repairing a low voltage cable fault in the area which has caused the outages, with work due to be completed on 2 October.
“We’re sorry that customers have been inconvenienced by several outages in recent weeks, and would like to thank them for their patience and understanding as we worked to locate the fault.”
