The cash will help provide care and support for people with life-limiting illnesses
Generous local people dug deep to support the Katharine House Hospice during the week-long Big Give campaign, which finished on Tuesday.
The final total raised was £42,463 with the public having given £24,963 and the Reed Foundation and two major donors adding £17,500, matching donations up to the campaign’s original target of £35,000.
An additional £5,244.75 of Gift Aid will now be claimed from HMRC.
A spokesperson for the Katharine House described the total raised as “absolutely incredible” and added: “That money will help us to provide care and support for people with life-limiting illnesses from the point of diagnosis onwards.
“We want to continue making every moment matter for our patients and families – and your donations help make that possible.”
