Ben Snuggs is the Acting Chief Constable following the suspension of Jason Hogg
The new Acting Chief Constable of Thames Valley Police has sought to reassure people following the suspension of Jason Hogg as Chief Constable of the force yesterday.
Mr Hogg was suspended by the Thames Valley Police and Crime Commissioner, Matthew Barber, whilst an investigation is carried out by the Independent Office of Police Conduct. They are looking into allegations Mr Hogg and another senior Thames Valley police officer failed to properly investigate allegations that a former senior officer in the force retained a significant amount of sensitive police information after they left.
Acting Chief Constable Ben Snuggs is now temporarily leading Thames Valley Police. He said: “I want to reassure everyone across Thames Valley that we will continue to serve, protect and respond to our communities as normal.
“Our officers, staff and volunteers remain fully committed to serving the public, tackling crime, serving victims and building trust in our communities.”
Mr Snuggs has 26 years police service, previously working in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight Constabulary, most recently as their Deputy Chief Constable.
