£50,693 accumulated by hospice challenge heroes
14/03/2025

Over four months teams grew an initial £25 investment
An award ceremony was held last night to celebrate the fund-raising successes of the teams who took part in last year’s Katharine House Hospice Accumulator Challenge.
An amazing £50,693 was raised by the fourteen companies, schools and groups, generating £19,609 more for the hospice than last year.
During the four-month challenge GRAF UK raised the most, bringing in over £25,386.
Others picking up awards for their fundraising efforts included Banbury College, Brackley Tangent, Kineton High School and Walraven.
The challenge saw each group coming up with ways to grow a £25 investment from Katharine House. Cash generating initiatives included making and selling honey, running Christmas craft fairs, quiz nights, completing a skydive, a 24-hour spinathon, and a virtual bike ride and a Triathlon spanning the distance from Glasgow to Banbury!
A spokesperson for Katharine House said: “We have been completely blown away by the commitment, creativity and community spirit shown by all the teams. Every single penny raised as part of this challenge will help us care for local people when they need us the most. A massive thank you to everyone who took part and helped raise such a phenomenal total.”
The Accumulator Challenge will run again this year, beginning on October 20, but registrations are now open.
