What future for JDE Honours Board plaques?

Its amongst a number of heritage items at the site
Following the announcement by JDE last week of the proposed closure of their Banbury site a social media group has been formed to try and save the brass plaques which honour those staff who gave thirty-years service to the company.
The Honours Board sits on the wall at the top of the stairs behind reception. Should the Banbury site be closed there is concern as to what will happen to these plaques.
Jo Mobley’s father worked at the coffee factory site. She has created a group on Facebook where she is reaching out to those who might have a plaque on the wall and the families of those with plaques who may no longer be with us.
If a final decision is taken to close the site Jo is hoping JDE will make sure the plaques aren’t lost. She said: “I think there’s over 600 plaques on that wall – I’ve had people messaging and I’ve got over 70 names already.
“I’m hoping they’ll be able to reunite most of them. I’d like to get them back to either the families or the actual workers, just as long as it doesn’t go to landfill.”
Banbury FM understands that alongside the consultation with staff, which is due to begin next week, JDE plans to look at a number of heritage items at the site, to consider what might happen to them should their proposal move ahead.
