YouGov have released the data as the first anniversary of the General Election approaches

Labour would hold on to Banbury if a General Election were to happen today, but the Conservatives would lose out to Reform UK in South Northamptonshire, according to a poll just out.

As the Labour government approaches the first anniversary of its historic 172 seat majority win last July, YouGov has produced an analysis of voting intentions based on its latest survey.

This found that if an election was held now Reform UK would have the largest number of seats (271), but not enough to take control.   Labour would fall to second place (178), the Lib Dems third (81) and the Conservatives would fall further to fourth (46).

In Banbury Sean Woodcock is predicted to retain his seat for Labour, but with his majority reduced to 26 percent of the vote, down from the 38 percent at last year’s General Election.   The YouGov poll places Reform UK in second place with 25 percent of the vote and the Conservatives on 24 percent.

In South Northamptonshire YouGov predict the Conservative’s Sarah Bool would lose out to Reform UK, who they predict would take 29 percent of the vote, with Ms Bool on 27 percent (down from 37 percent last year).
