The area now includes a trim trail offering youngsters both physical activity and social interaction
A newly refurbished play area has opened in People’s Park – just in time for the school holidays.
The upgrade, which was delivered within a £20,000 budget by Banbury Town Council, has been under construction for several weeks.
The equipment was designed to be modern, safe, and durable, with the aim of ensuring a long lifespan and encouraging children to stay active and creative. A newly installed trim trail will offer both physical activity and social interaction for young visitors.
The play area was officially unveiled by Councillor Shaida Hussain, Leader of the Council and Chair of General Resources Committee. She said: “This refurbishment is a wonderful addition to the People’s Park play area, and we are most pleased that it has been completed in time for the school holidays.
“This project also represents Banbury Town Council’s continued commitment to caring for and developing parks, green spaces, and play facilities across town.”
The redevelopment is part of ongoing efforts by the council to keep People’s Park welcoming and appealing for residents and visitors, whilst maintaining its unique character.
Along with the play area, People’s Park also is home to a popular rose garden, aviary, and the People’s Park Café.
