Comments sought on new plan for Bloxham

One of the aims is to conserve and enhance the historic character of the village and its countryside setting
People in Bloxham are being asked to comment on a new draft version of a Neighbourhood Plan for their village.
The latest version of the plan updates the existing adopted plan and seeks to guide how Bloxham will develop over the coming years.
An introduction notes how the village aims to successfully accommodate its new population whilst maintaining its essential historic, rural character by preserving its special countryside setting and heritage assets.
The aims of the new plan are stated as: “To plan for a scale of housing growth that can be accommodated within the constraints of the village infrastructure; to use opportunities to improve the village infrastructure; to conserve and enhance the special historic character of the village and its countryside setting; to manage development so that fits well with existing residential amenity.”
The proposed new version of the plan can be viewed online or in the White Lion Café and Bloxham Nursery & Tearoom. In addition a number of consultation events being held through August and September.
The consultation is open now and runs until September 15. Following that the final document must pass through an independent examination before being voted on in a referendum, which its hoped will take place early in 2026.
