Plan ahead and book a free safety check

Last year around 30 percent of those tested failed

We’re right at the start of the school summer holidays so using an electric blanket when the weather turns colder might not be top of the things you are thinking about.

But Oxfordshire County Council is planning ahead for the autumn and has released the dates for their annual free electric blanket checks.

The annual tests are an important safety check.   Last year 743 blankets were tested and more than 30 percent failed.

There are a number of sessions taking place across the county but the one in our area is happening on October 8.

Councillor Jenny Hannaby, Oxfordshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Community Safety, said: “This is a free service we have been providing now for 26 years for anybody in Oxfordshire to take advantage of.

“It’s probably hard to think about the winter right now, but do book your appointment as soon as possible to avoid disappointment – get yourself prepared.”

A check can be prebooked by calling 01865 519800 (option 4), by emailing [email protected] or by booking online.
