MP welcomes JD Vance to constituency

The Vice President is staying near Charlbury
Banbury’s MP has welcomed the Vice President of the United States to our area.
Sean Woodcock said that JD Vance was welcome in his constituency.
Mr Vance is currently staying at a country house in Dean, close to Charlbury.
There has been some controversy about the police restrictions local people are facing due to the security operation and Mr Vance’s visit has resulted in some protestors heading to the area.
Mr Woodcock said: “I welcome the Vice President of the United States to the constituency. Dean, Charlbury and the surrounding area is a great place and I hope he gets to visit and use the many wonderful local businesses. As lovely as they are, they are not images on postcards but they are also communities where people live and work and I would urge all visitors to respect that.”
This afternoon Mr Vance has visited RAF Fairford where he addressed both US and UK Armed Forces personnel. He passed on a message from President Donald Trump, telling the US servicemen and women “we are proud of you”.
