Thames Water will support anyone who was impacted by flooding

Thames Water engineers have worked through the night to complete repairs on the burst water main in Banbury town centre.

Late yesterday morning water was seen gushing towards the Southam Road traffic lights from a burst under North Bar car park, close to the 3 Flavours restaurant.

A number of local properties were affected by flood water from the burst and some schools were forced to close when they lost their water supplies.

Engineers arrived on site during Wednesday lunchtime and began work to resolve this issue.

A Thames Water spokesperson said: “We’re very sorry to customers who were impacted by a burst water main on North Bar Street in Banbury on Wednesday 10 September.

“Yesterday our engineers were able to shut off water to the mains pipe with customers’ supply then returning and our team has since completed the repair last night.

“Our customer representatives will continue to support anyone who was impacted by flooding, and we apologise to those affected.”
