The work will begin this week
A Banbury County Councillor who has been fighting for improvements to local roads in his ward has welcomed the news resurfacing is about to begin.
Councillor Mark Cherry represents Banbury Ruscote, where work will start later this week at the Bretch Hill end of Bramber Close, Powys Grove and Williams Close.
The roads will receive a micro asphalt resurfacing treatment by Oxfordshire County Council’s contractors. It will take up to five days to complete.
Councillor Cherry said: “Since representing Banbury Ruscote on Oxfordshire County Council from 2017, I have secured road resurfacing works that have improved road conditions for residents. There are more roads that I will work to be get resurfaced over the coming year.”
Councillor Cherry noted the work had been made possible through the wider government funding of £8,900,000 for Oxfordshire’s roads, along with an extra £5million for the county’s roads thanks to a Labour Group amendment to the council’s 2025/26 budget.
