Puritans one game away from FA Cup first round proper

10/10/2025

The club is hoping people will get behind the team for this important game

Banbury United have one of the most important games of the season so far as they face St Albans City in the Emirates FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round tomorrow afternoon.

The FA Cup is the world’s oldest and most famous knockout football competition.   For clubs like Banbury the dream is to make it into the first round proper – and a win tomorrow at the Spencer Stadium could see that dream come true.

The club last achieved the first round proper in 2021 which led to national TV coverage and a sell-out crowd of 2,500 people for the game.

Should the success be replicated on Saturday afternoon it would be only the seventh time in the club’s 94 year history its happened.

The game kicks off at 3pm and the club is hoping as many people as possible will back the town’s team.   Tickets cost £14 for adults, £12 for concessions and students, £10 for under 18s and under 11s get in free (if accompanied by an adult).
