Poppy appeal underway

23/10/2025

Poppy sellers can be found at a number of local supermarkets

The annual poppy appeal begins today ahead of the Remembrance period in November.

In Banbury volunteer poppy sellers are already manning stalls in Tesco’s, Waitrose and Sainsbury’s.   From tomorrow they will also be based in Morrison’s and at the Castle Quay Shopping Centre.

Local schools also have poppies on sale and 180 boxes of poppies have been delivered to local shops and companies who have agreed to act as sales points.

Over £70,000 was collected during last year’s appeal in the Banbury area.

In Brackley poppies will be on sale from tomorrow in Waitrose, Sainsbury’s and Tesco.
