The deal, worth £3m, did not include staff

The name Fired Earth is likely to live on following the announcement that Topps Tiles has acquired a number of the company’s assets.

The Adderbury based company, which first began selling terracotta floor tiles from a farm site home in 1983, entered administration at the end of October.   133 people were made redundant.

In its Annual Financial Results, released yesterday, Topps Tiles revealed they had acquired the Fired Earth brand, intellectual property, website and an estimated £2.5 million of stock.   The of £3 million deal was completed in November and adds a complementary premium brand to the group’s portfolio.

The Administrators previously noted that whilst negotiations on a sale of Fired Earth’s assets were progressing the deal did not include staff.
