New Year’s Eve shop robbery by men with knife

The store on the Warwick Road was targeted for tobacco and cash

A convenience store in Banbury was robbed at knifepoint this morning (Wednesday).

Thames Valley Police were called at 7.54am after two men entered the Quick Stop store on Warwick Road, threatened staff with a knife and stole tobacco and cash.

No one was injured during the incident.

Police say descriptions of the suspects are currently limited, but will be updated as the investigation continues.

Detective Inspector Robert Platt said the robbery is being treated as a priority and appealed for witnesses.

He added: “If you were in the Warwick Road area this morning shortly before 8am and saw two men entering or leaving the Quick Stop convenience store, or were driving through and have dash cam footage that may have captured something, please get in touch.”
