ANPR cameras at hospital car park live from Monday

The Trust say the new system will help make hospital visits as stress-free as possible
Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras will be used in the car parks at the Horton General Hospital from Monday next week.
This brings the site into line with other hospital car parks managed by the Oxford University Hospital’s Trust.
The new system replaces the pay-in-advance ticket machines which have operated in the hospital car park. Those parking will now need to pay when they leave, with the cameras recording how long they have been there.
Payments can be made by card and contactless using new payment machines, or an app, during the visit or up to 48 hours afterwards.
Car parking charges will remain unchanged.
Lisa Hofen, Chief Estates & Facilities Officer at OUH, said: “We’re committed to making hospital visits as stress-free as possible for patients and visitors, and ensuring all parking is managed effectively.
“The introduction of ANPR is a significant improvement that will make parking easier, more accurate and more convenient for everyone.”
Until the new system goes live on Monday, parking at the Horton General is free for patients, visitors, and staff.
